On Sunday, March 6th, the Holbrook FD was requested to the scene of a Signal-13/35 Working Structure Fire by the Sayville FD. Asst. Chief Heinssen immediately responded, learning that the Sayville FD was on scene of a working residential structure fire that was rapidly spreading to nearby buildings. Engine 1 out of Station 1 was quick to respond. Upon arrival, the crew of Engine 1 was quickly put to work on an additional hand-line.
At approximately 7am, Sayville Command placed a Signal 4-Under Control on the alarm; releasing all Mutual Aid departments. All Holbrook units returned to the district and were placed back in service.
