The Holbrook Fire Department was formed in 1927 by a group of neighbors in order to battle the many brush fires that threatened their homes. The Departement continues its service to the community and for almost 100 years kept up with the changing times to provide our neighbors with both fire protection and emergency medical response.
The Holbrook Fire Department responds to over 2,500 calls a year. Not all of our calls are fire calls, they can be medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, carbon monoxide alarms, gas leaks, and electrical hazards. These are just a small example of the types of calls we receive at all hours of the day and night. In addition to responding to emergencies we are required to maintain a high standard of training. Our unpaid volunteers attend countless hours of training that are required by the various Federal, State, and County agencies.
There are strict guidelines regarding your tax dollars that are collected by the Holbrook Fire District, but there are many expenses not covered by those tax dollars. Your generous donations go to those expenses. These donations help us with purchases that promote motivation of our members, Fire Prevention, Open House, Santa Tour, and other activities.
