On Sunday May 31 the department participated in Low Rise commercial training at the Suffolk County Fire Academy in Yaphank. This evolution simulates conditions in the newest type of construction being built near the LIRR stations in Ronkonkoma and Patchogue. Commercial retail on ground level and residential apartments above 3-5 stories tall. Search and rescue with fire suppression are the main duties.
